Watch of the Month - March 2018

Longines 1945 Heritage Collection

The reason I picked this model for the month of March is because the Longines Heritage 1945 is a close replica of the original Longines watch produced in 1945. The main visual difference is the dial, case diameter, and type
movement. The new movement replacing the manual wound movement is the L609. This is basically a fancy name for an ETA 2895-2 swiss automatic self winding movement. The dimensions have increased from 37MM to a more modern 40MM. This watch is absolutely stunning in person and it can be quite hard to find at the moment for the retail price of $1700 USD. I have included a picture of the original 1945 manual wound model below for reference. Thanks for reading.

Here is a short video review of my beloved 114060 Submariner - Enjoy

The main component of a mechanical movement is the mainspring, a spring that gradually unwinds and transmits energy. A mechanical watch will keep accurate time despite requiring winding up if it's manual. ... Inside an automatic watch sits a small weighted rotor that has to oscillate in order to wind the mainspring.
