Case and Dial
The all new Paul Rich Frosted Stardust model in 316L brushed stainless steel is quite a stunner in hand and on the wrist. The watch features a nicer slim 11MM thick case with a 42MM diameter making it wearable
for all wrist sizes from small to large. Overall, it has a nice heft in hand and feels quite solid and well finished. The watch also comes with a 24 month warranty and a polishing cloth along with tools to adjust the bracelet which was nice of them to throw in at no extra charge. The watch definitely contains design DNA from gerald genta the man who introduced the AP royal oak steel sports watch to us back in the 1970s. Overall the quality and finishing is on par with the $549 price ( Use code ERIK15 And you can save 15% on this model ). The crystal was upgraded to a sapphire crystal with anti reflective coating which gives it a more premium feel as well. Now the frosted finish is really quite sparkly and almost appears that there are diamonds encrusted along the bracelet and case giving it an iced out feeling. If your into the bling factor and cant afford a 50,000 iced out AP this can definitely get the job done! The dial
is also sparkly with stardust sprinkled along it. It really is quite stunning, especially when the sun hits it.
We do get a nice exhibition caseback whicj is screwed down for that 50 Meters of water resistance and to give you a view of the seiko NH35 automatic movement. This is a very common automatic caliber and is used in many Seiko watches as well as smaller brands. It is reliable, accurate, tough, and will run flawlessly for years without error. The movement features 24 Jewels, Hand Winding. Hacking seconds, and a quickset date feature.
'The bracelet is 20MM and features that same stardust finishing which really pops and makes you stand out among the crowd. It is rather easy to adjust and features pins which are easy to hammer out and size for your wrist. Overall, other strap options are available
via the website but I think it certainly fits with comfort and gets the job done.
Furthermore, the all new 42MM full dusted model
certainly is a stunner and feels quite luxuriois and lavish when on wrist. It has all the specifications you would look for in a 500 dollar watch. I think they did a decent job putting this one together and I am sure it will be a great seller along with their other models!
Case and Dial
The Paul Rich 44MM StarDust gold model is quite a bold watch. It is 44MM in diameter - 13MM Thick - and 51MM Lug to Lug. The watch itself is crafted of solid 316L steel with a gold finish. For the most part, the case is brushed with some polished edges near the sides of the lugs. 50M is what we get on this model in terms of water resistance so I would not reccommend taking this piece in the pool nor ocean. However, you can most definitely get it wet. The dial is where this model really stands out in my opinion with hand applied lumed C3 superluminova markers that glow green. The date window is legible as well as reading the time at a glance. The Stardust glittery dark blue dial really stands out and sparkles as the light hits it giving off a really luxurious and glamorous feeling to the end user, which many will appreciate. To top it off the crystal is hard and durable with some AR coating for a clear view.
The movement utilized is the Seiko NH35 automatic which is a fairly common movement but a trustworthy one. It has a smooth sweep at 3 HZ with a quickset date, hacking seconds, and hand winding. It is a movement that will last many years without the need for service unlike some of its' Swiss competitors. The accuracy ranges - but on this model I am getting about +6 seconds per day which is outstanding.
The Paul Rich 44 features an integrated bracelet with quick release pins on the back for easy strap changing. However, if you want to change bands to a leather band for example you will need to buy the band from Paul Rich on their website. I see that as being the only downside - but the bracelet is very good quality and comfortable as well. It features a deployant butterfly clasp with their logo engraved where it joins at the middle of the wrist.
Furthermore, Paul Rich is definitely
improving their models from their humble beginnings a few years ago and are now a more recognized brand with a lot more models
to choose from. The quality is definitely good for the overall cosr as well as the movement and overall finishing of the timepiece. This one happens to be my favorite though as this type of dial is extremely rare and hard to find. Always remember you can save 15% off the full price on the Paul Rich Website using code ERIK15 - this will help cut a big chunk
of change off the price!
