Victorinox INOX Carbon Fiber Watch Review - Toughest Watch?

Case

Picture
This version of the ever so popular and ideal tool watch dubbed the INOX - is actually crafted of solid carbon fiber which was tested in space and held up to an incredible 1261 degrees Celsius. It also contains the same robust feeling as its’ brothers including the 130 tests it has gone through. In terms of dimensions we are looking at a 43MM x 12.7MM x 51MM case. It fits nice on my 6.5” wrist which is not all too big, quite average I would say. The watch is also extremely light weighing in at 99 grams with the Paracord strap. A nice feature is the standard 200M of water resistance along with the screw down crown and steel caseback. This truly is a watch you can use in any situation that approaches you.

Dial

Picture
Picture
The black dial contains straightforward, no nonsense field tool look. The large applied lumed
numerals certainly makes it easy to read time at any given angle and in any circumstance. If you didn’t botice there is a date window tucked away between the 4-5 O clock position. Now in the comment section of my
video, some followers mentioned this disrupts the symmetry of the dial a bit, but that is certainly a personal preference. As seen on other INOX models, this one also features a genuine sapphire crystal with Three layers of Anti-Reflective coating - making it truly a glare-free watch in super sunny conditions. I dropped a lume shot below of the SuperLuminova which glows a green color and lasts fairly long with decent potency.

Movement

Picture
None other then the Swiss Made Ronda 715 Quartz movement is utilized across the board in all
INOX models, besides the mechanical version. It is a pretty accurate, efficient, and trustworthy movement which has some nice features such as an EOL indicator, 5 Jewels, and gold plated components. For a watch this tough, a mechanical movement just would not pass those 130 tests..

Straps..

Picture
Pictured above is the extra Catachouc genuine 22MM rubber band the watch comes with. That strap is actually super nice and flexible. I am a big rubber strap guy and Catachouc is the same exact material used
on my $300 Breitling rubber strap. It is pretty much as high end as it gets when it comes
to rubber straps - so kudos to Victorinox for including a very good accessory. Now, the Paracord strap which comes stock on this model is the same material used in Parachutes. It is tough, comfortable, and suits the aesthetic they were going for on this Carbon model. It might not be everyones’ cup of tea, but it definitely adds a distinct and unique look to the watch.

Conclusion

Furthermore, the Victorinox Carbon is definitely a fun watch to wear everyday. It is also a watch I can use to swim, climb mountains, go snowboarding, or Skydiving. I am honestly not sure if there is a watch on the market with this robust toughness factor the INOX contains. If you are not an extremist, it is still a very good looking sporty watch with a decent set of specifications for the money.

The main component of a mechanical movement is the mainspring, a spring that gradually unwinds and transmits energy. A mechanical watch will keep accurate time despite requiring winding up if it's manual. ... Inside an automatic watch sits a small weighted rotor that has to oscillate in order to wind the mainspring.
