September 2018 - Tudor Black Bay GMT “Pepsi”

Picture

September has arrived and all the younger folks are headed back to college, teachers heading back to class, and me..well talking about watches. The watch I have chosen for this month is the all new Tudor Black Bay GMT “Pepsi” watch. This model was released this past baselworld 2018 and is available at your local authorized dealer, if you can score one. Somehow, I believe the rarity of obtaining the new Rolex GMT Pepsi has somehow converted enthusiasts to lean towards the Black Bay GMT. I say this because of the incredible quality and value this watch offers the consumer. We get an in-house 70 hour power reserve GMT movement with an independent GMT hand, along with a date. Tudor also really played the color game correctly, while Rolex failed at that in my eyes on their new iteration of the Pepsi GMT. This watch is also super affordable for a luxury timepiece coming in at under $4000 USD. I think this will be a future classic, and can foresee demand rising with soaring prices.

The main component of a mechanical movement is the mainspring, a spring that gradually unwinds and transmits energy. A mechanical watch will keep accurate time despite requiring winding up if it's manual. ... Inside an automatic watch sits a small weighted rotor that has to oscillate in order to wind the mainspring.
